Milwaukee Fire Department

The Milwaukee Fire Department's Communications Division is located on the 3rd floor of the new Milwaukee Police 3rd District & Communications Operations Division building on Lisbon and North Avenues. MFD is installing MDC's in it's units along with the SMT's (Status Messaging Terminals) it has had. Since the installation of these new MDC's, voice traffic on the below frequencies have been decreasing. The voice operations you here is the dispatcher letting units on the road that another unit is responding lights and sirens to a call so watch out. It sound like this on the radio: Car 300 Engine 18 responding as a squad, Capital and Palmer. The car 300 part gets mobile units attention. The dispatcher can be heard on Channel 1 & 2 at the same time while the unit responds on the channels they are assigned. Responding units are assigned to a frequency and a Fireground Channel to communicate with one another while on the scene of an incident. Responses that require 1 or 2 Units are on 154.385 and the assigned fireground, while responses of more than 2 units will be on 159.150 and the fireground. Below are the Milwaukee county ambulance companies & Milwaukee FireBell Frequencies
